Just like your custom events, you can use Connect’s built in events as goals in your campaigns. In this guide I am going to highlight two popular events that you might want to track as goals in your campaigns.
The first goal I’m going to step through is tracking campaign message opens using the event [Connect] Opened Message.
Once you have configured your campaign and are ready to configure your first goal, you’ll want to go ahead and select the [Connect] Opened Message event like so:
Now that you have selected [Connect] Opened Message click + Add an optional property and choose campaignId from the property drop down and equals as the operator:
Next, you will need to source your campaign’s campaignId value. To find this take a look at your URL bar - the campaignId is the 24 character string seen here:
This value is unique for each campaign you create so make sure to copy the campaignId from the campaign you wish to track.
Paste this value in your optional property’s value field:
You can follow the same steps as above to track customer click-through in your messages by selecting [Connect] Clicked Message as your goal event and including the campaignId as your optional event property:
