This guide is intended as an introduction to Connect web pushes in Guide, by the end of it you will be able to test that the Connect.js snippet is running in your Help Center and see what a Connect push will look like.

The first step is to find your Connect.js snippet. This is a bit of code that will make the functions needed for Connect Web Pushes to be successful available in your browser.
Click the Zendesk Products icon () in the top bar and select Connect
Click the Settings icon () in the sidebar > Message Settings > Web Push
- Select the environment where you want to test the web push and copy the snippet to your clipboard
Next we are going to add that snippet to the header of our help center so it is available on every page. This snippet can be put on any page where you want Connect web pushes to be available but for the purposes of this demonstration we are going to add it to Guide
- Click the Zendesk Products icon () in the top bar and select Guide
- Hover over the theme currently applied to your help center and select view theme
- Click the options menu () and select Edit Code
- On the left hand menu select header.hbs
- Paste the code you copied from Connect just above the </header> at the bottom of the page.
Now that the snippet is in place we need to add a campaign in Connect that will send the message to your browser.
- Click the Zendesk Products icon () in the top bar and select Connect
- Click the Campaigns icon () in the sidebar
- Select Create Campaign
- Select Broadcast to List
- Name your campaign
- Select Send to users in segment
- In the filter section Select Segment Users by Attribute
- Under pick an Attribute select user_id
- For pick an operator select equals
- In the value field put “PushTestUser”
- Under select a variant choose Web Push
- Add in a title, button text and message in the composer on the left hand side
- Select a button url on the right hand side
- Select Save Draft and Preview at the bottom of the page
- If you are testing this in your development environment select Test Send: Development, if you are testing this in your production environment select Final send: Production
- Navigate to your help center in a browser
- Paste outbound.identify('PushTestUser');
- Hit enter
- You should see your push message
