User search allows you to display a list of users based on search criteria. User searches generate a list of users based on any combination of segmentation criteria:
- Event (and event property) history
- User attribute values
- Messages sent / not sent
- Campaign goals achieved / not achieved
If you have performed a user search and would like to use this list as filter criteria for a trigger or broadcast campaign you can do so very simply.
First, you will want to create a new user search. Select the Users icon in the left hand panel:
Now select the New Search button, name your search and select the environment you wish to search:
Select the criteria you want to filter by and then select Run query. For this demonstration, I'm looking for any user whose email contacts the word "example."
Once the search is complete and you are satisfied with your segment of users you can select Create campaign:
This will allow you to select your campaign type:
After selecting your campaign type the filter criteria from your user search will be configured as your campaign filter criteria automatically:
